Oh, I hate New Jersey
As everyone who knows me knows, I hate New Jersey. In my opinion, New Jersey should be split from the continental US like LA in the movie "Escape from LA".
On Friday, I met Bill and we went to Continental Airlines Arena and saw Foo Fighters and Weezer. Weezer was amazing. The highs for me was when they did "Say It Ain't So" and a cover of the Foo Fighter song "Big Me." I've never heard a band come a song done by the band they were opening for before. Foo Fighters was beyond believe. They covered songs from four of their five albums. The first album only was hit by the Weezer cover. This was the first time seeing a band where I knew every song they played. The highlight was when they brough Roger Taylor, the drummer from Queen, on stage and had him play drums while Taylor Hawkins did the vocals for the Queen song "Tie Your Mother Down." Though I cringed when I was associated with Jersey by the band, overall, it was worth a trip to the so-called Garden State.
On Saturday, I had an opportunity to pay five wheel on a trip to Six Flags. We spent nine and half hours there and went on a grand total of 4 rides (roughly $12.50 per ride). The highlight of the day was riding the new ride, KingdaKa. It was amazing. You are shoot 120 mph up a track and back down. The track is the highest rollertrack in the world, or so I'm told.
Sunday, I walked the breast cancer 5 mile at Jones Beach. For all who don't know me, my grandmother died of breast cancer in 2000. I was really close to my grandmother, so it was a real loss to me. In her memory, I try to attend these types of events. I was able to raise $438, coming from work friends and my parents' work friend. She was the type of woman that would have done this. I miss her. After the walk, I went to furniture store and bough my dining room set. It was look nice in the dining room at the new place. The last event of the day was bowling at Levittown Lanes North with Matt and Jeetan. I bowled by highest scoring game with a 153 with 4 strikes in a row.
Just another great weekend with the another Monday quickly approaching. Life is good.
