What to Say? What to say?
So with a half an hour until TV becomes good again, I figured I'd update the blog. The problem with updating after two weeks is I always forget something. I'll try my best.
So let's start with the weekend of the 21st. I may be duplicating my last entry, but I'm trying my best to look forward instead of backwards. Danielle stayed by the apartment with me (thank God the Queen bed was delivered that day) and the women in my life (Mom and Danielle) helped me as we tore through Home Depot looking for stuff for the apartment. We also met with the painter who is scheduled for the 11th of February.
The week that followed was filled with meeting Danielle in the city for dinner and work. A highlight was a department party at Dave and Busters in Farmingdale on Thursday. The director (Tim) bought dinner and I was "comp"ed so many drinks. I learned Janie can really shoot basketball, Bonnie can chug, and my supervisors are drunks like me. The official game of Shared Services is now a toss-up between Dance, Dance, Revolution and basketball. The night ended when I went to the ticket counter to merge my tickets with the Jillians tickets I had transferred to the card at Westbury. The girl at the counter told me I had 200 tickets, which did not include the 1900 I placed on the card the week before. The situation ended with a conversation with the manager that included the key quotation, "Are you calling me a liar?", "That's wrong", and "I know what I've spent money on." The conversation ended with a bribe on the part of the manager of $25 put on the card and a suggestion to contact Westbury about my tickets. Well being the stubborn person I am, I drove to Westbury that night. When I entered the card in the machine, the tickets were there. Turns out the systems have not been merged yet, so all the tickets are visible in Westbury and will not be merged til March. Why the manager at Westbury knew this and the one in Farmingdale didn't, I'll never know. Long story short, I ended the night $25 up and 2100 tickets on my card. A good time in deed.
The week ended with Danielle staying Friday night and me staying the remainder of the weekend at the apartment. I brought over my applications and have since re-shelfpapered one cabinet and brought over my dishes, cups, and silverware. Things are coming along.
Things to look forward to starting tomorrow: Danielle spending the weekend, Superbowl Sunday, Happy Hour with the Henry Schein Crew and Danielle, and the start of another year of working for the CPA. I will be introducing Danielle to Roosevelt Field. We'll see how dangerous this is. =) It'll definitely be a busy weekend.
